Take a short trip and to get to know one of the seven marvels of the world in Peru, “Machu Picchu” In only two days, you’ll be able to travel through beautiful scenery that guards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and later, at night in the town of Aguas Calientes, and the following day, visit the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
Day 1 – The Sacred Valley of the Incas
In the morning, we’ll swing by your hotel and pick you up to begin our tour of the Sacred Valley, which is found nestled between the Andean mountain chain. During the trip, you’ll get to learn about various towns and diverse tourist attractions located in strategic places, with fine agriculture, points of control, and worship of the ancient Tahuantinsuyo deities.
You’ll be able to discover beautiful landscapes and histories that are saved in these sacred spaces, rules of the Willkamayu, amongst other interesting places such as:
The town of Pisac, a destination known for the archeological complex located at the top of the mountain. Enjoy learning about the neighborhoods that farm part of the grand residential settlement, superimposed terraces, ceremonial temples, water wells, and the biggest known Incan cemetery.
We’ll travel to Ollantaytambo as well, who name, Tambo, indicates it was a resting place and obligatory stop for all travelers that desired to go to the sacred city of Machu Picchu through the Sacred Valley.
Here in Ollantaytambo is also where we’ll find the train station, where we’ll all embark to the local town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arriving to this place, a representative of the company will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.
Day 2 – Visit Machu Picchu
Finally, the day you’ve been waiting for has arrived. On this day, at dawn, in the middle of the Cusco jungle, you’ll start your day full of energy to travel to the most visited place in Peru.
In the morning, we’ll take a bus with the destination of the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which is located at the top of a mountain with the same name. Once there, we will begin our guided tour to discover the theories and fascinating histories about the lost city of the Incas.
If you want to experiment a bit more with Machu Picchu, you can top for the mountain route or the door of the sun (Puerta del Sol). Not to mention the opportunity to scale Mount Wayna Picchu, where you can take photographs and save this wonderful memory of visiting one of the marvels of the world.
Finishing the trip, we’ll descend the mountain by bus back to Aguas Calientes, and you can enjoy some free time to eat lunch. Later, we’ll return to the station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and once there, there will be respective transportation waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
