Our team will transfer you from your hotel to the airport to take an 1-hour flight to Cusco, which means ‘navel of the earth’ in the Inca language of Quechua.
Upon arrival, you will be received and transferred to the hotel of your choice.
In the afternoon, the adventure will begin touring the main attractions of the city and other archaeological remains nearby. Cusco city is centred around the Plaza the Armas (main square), which is dominated by the Cathedral and La Compañia de Jesus Church. Its cloistered arcades house many fine restaurants, bars and shops.
Day 3 – Sacred Valley of the Incas & Ollantaytambo
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to start a full day spent visiting the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Located in the Andes mountain range, at an altitude of 3800m, the route comprises several villages and various tourist attractions located in the most surprising places that you could imagine. First, we visit the Pisac ruins, perched on a hilltop with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. We then go down to the famous traditional market of the same name, which is full of colour and atmosphere. A great place for souvenirs!
Then you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch on one of our well-known restaurant partners. After lunch, we continue along the valley to the temple/fortress of Ollantaytambo with its enormous Inca terracing constructed on the side of a steep mountain.
By the end of the day you will board the train destined to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you spend the night before visiting one of the 7 Wonders of the world.
Day 4 – Machu Picchu
Today we will wake early to have breakfast and board the bus up to Machu Picchu, and, if we are lucky, receive the first rays of the sun as dawn breaks and lights up this magical mountain. The guided tour through the Sanctuary will last roughly 2 hours, then you will have time to wander as you wish and continue to explore this wonderful other-worldly place.
At the end of the tour, you will be taken to the train station to return to Ollantaytambo station. Private transport will be awaiting to return you to your hotel in Cusco city.
